Unbelievable comeback. Bravo to Vargas who walked through hell for this one.

Excellent fight which deserves no less than 4 starts. The knock down that ended the fight was superb because the several and precise punches connected by Vargas. I’m not sure if Weed’s decision of stopping the fight was premature since he seems that he can continuing a little bit more because Varga’s punches after the knock down were no as precise as before. Vargas in spite of receiving a harsh punishment demonstrated to be a very technical and fast boxer. I’m very surprised for the amount of punches he was able to connect considering that the champion was southpaw. Miura did very good fight as well.

Perfectly articulated arjay. He certainly fell into a ring of fire, tge flames rose higher, and yet vargas exacted precision thunder and lightening… All with one eye.
I can understand the questioning of week’s dceision of the timing of the fight, but take another look at that fateful round, especially in slow-mo, miura was very long gone, eyes in stare, confused and fighting blind.
Speaking of fighting blind, how about week’s decision to not stop the fighg much earlier, due to the horror show that was vargas’s eye? Gotta give him notches of credit there. So many times, officials strike fear in american fighters’ hearts, way early in fights, when a lil puffiness occurs. Like they protect even when the fighter themselves dont want nor need it. Its almost like it was a conscious decision before the fight night, to let all fists fly, to combat the recent yawns of pay-per-view boxing. Thank goodness…

This fight certainly stole the show, what a reversal of situation :)

    Hell of a fight!
Someone tell Miura to work on his defense though. Its hard to see a boxer take so many punches in the head sometimes.

Hello ATBF! Long time no see.
Best fight of the night, by far! In my mind, this one should be rated at least 4 stars. One of the best fight this year. I agree with Tango, the stoppage was a bit premature… I even thought he was turning things around when the referee made the call. Maybe he saw something we didn’t see… I want a rematch in 2016!

    • Welcome back Olivier!!

Sorry Tony weeks in the back pocket of vegas..please man.Highway robbery.Stopped to early..I don’t see a rematch happening too risky for vargas.Miura is the man., with a little defensive technique he’s going to hurt a lot of heads.I would love to train him.
