2 Star RatingReview by AllTheBestFights.com: 2015-12-17, fight not particularly good between Shane Mosley and Patrick Lopez: it gets two stars.

The 44-year-old former world champion in three different weight classes Shane Mosley entered this fight with a boxing record of 48-9-1 (40 KOs=83%) and he is ranked as the No.48 super welterweight in the world. He lost to Anthony Mundine in 2013 (=Mosley vs Mundine) but he came back to win in 2015 beating Ricardo Mayorga (=Mosley vs Mayorga 2).
His opponent, Patrick Lopez, has an official record of 23-5-0 (14 knockouts) but he is not ranked as he hasn’t fought since November 14, 2014 when he defeated by Luis Martinez. Mosley vs Lopez is on the undercard of Luis Concepcion vs Hernan Marquez 3. Watch the video and rate this fight!

  1. A rough start for Mosley who sustained a bloody headbutt in the first round. This was the beginning of a fight punctuated by many pauses… In the second round, he scored a KD after one of his widely thrown right hook finally touch the chin of Lopez. In the third round, he threw a straight right counterpunch, but it was ruled as a slip by the referee. On the same sequence, there was another unintentional headbutt. Age really slowed Mosley down and I got bored after the 4th round, since the rhythm of this fight was inconstant. I seeked for the last round expecting a UD, but to my surprise Mosley was able to finally close the deal with a KO. In my opinion, the referee should’ve stop the fight after the 2nd KD of this round (which he then again ruled as a slip). Clearly, we could see Lopez was done by the way he guillotined his head in the ropes.

  2. An aged Mosley, slow, ponderous and a shadow of himself in his prime. The match up was balanced a 50% fighter against a worn out one. The outcome was inevitable, a boring hugging match.
