Yutaka Niida (23-1-3) had won the WBA World minimumweight title in 2003 during the rematch against Noel Arambulet and in this fight he was defending his title for the eighth consecutive time! The opponent was the young Roman Gonzalez (born in 1987) that, for the first time, tried to win a world title. The perfect record of “El Chocolatito” Gonzalez spoke out, he had won all the 20 fighting including 18 by knockout; in fact also versus Niida, the Nicaraguan phenomenon knocked his opponent out.
