2 Star RatingReview by AllTheBestFights.com: 2017-02-17, disappointing fight between Roy Jones Jr and Bobby Gunn: it gets two stars.

The 48-year-old former world champion in four different weight classes Roy Jones Jr (five years older than Gunn) entered this fight with a professional boxing record of 64-9-0 (46 knockouts) and he is ranked as the No.52 cruiserweight in the world. Jones ‘Junior’ lost to Enzo Maccarinelli in 2015 (=Jones Jr vs Maccarinelli) but he came back to win in 2016 beating Vyron Phillips and Rodney Moore (=Jones Jr vs Moore).
His opponent, the bare knuckle legend Bobby Gunn, has an official record of 21-6-1 (18 KOs=86%) but he is not ranked as he hasn’t fought since December 18, 2013 when he was defeated by Glen Johnson. Before this bout he had also lost to James Toney and Tomasz Adamek. Roy Jones Jr vs Bobby Gunn is valid for the vacant WBF World cruiserweight title. Watch the video and rate this fight!

After sixty five fights Jones assuredly knows enough about boxing to be a very effective announcer. He should climb under the ropes and retire to this occupation. He has a magnifcent record so why attempt to play the music when the pressing is worn.

He said in an interview about why he was continuing: “We gotta die of something”. Doesn’t look to me like a guy with a death wish.
