  1. I didn’t really like this fight
    but Wanderlei Silva won
and that’s what it’s all about
however,I think he is so far away from what he was in the
past , He must keep training so that He may be
    the ex-murderer again!

  2. Bad stoppage. Cung could do well in mma but I think he might be too old and won’t have the drive to put in the extra effort. Also his chin isn’t very good but I think if he really did want to be a champion in mma that wouldn’t be a problem. Silva was one of the best but is now long overdue. Decent fight though.

  3. How can you not like this fight? It was an awesome fight.

Stoppage was early but justifiable. Cung couldn’t even keep his hands clasped and his left hand just fell to the mat. His body was flattened out and his legs were not moving at all. That’s not a single leg at all. He was hanging on for dear life and couldn’t recover.

Nobody in MMA has better knees from the clinch than Wanderlei. Look at the way he got his hips into those knees. Absolutely brutal. This was the first time Wanderlei put on a vintage Pride Wanderlei performance in the UFC.

  4. Mr. Silva has 45 fights in his record. He’s fought in Japan, America, and Brazil. He’s fought in Vale Tudo, Pride Fighting, Abu Dhabi and everywhere else. He’s fought the likes of Dan Henderson, Filipovic, Nogueira, Jackson and Belfort. He’s a Chute Boxer. He’s also a Black belt in Brazilian Jui Jitsu. Cage Experience wise Mr. Silva is more comfortable. They don’t call him the “Axe Murderer” for nothing. Silva is a brawler. He has a powerful right hand and awesome knees. Soccer Kicks, Foot Stomps & Head Butts is backyard regime. The Vietnamese Phenom only has 8 Cage Fights. However he’s been Kickboxing for Two decades. Le’s regime is back-hands and side kicks. Le’s also a collegiate wrestler and is an excellent grappler. He’s won San Shou World Championship many times. He’s a tactition. When it comes to fighting, it comes down to individual fights and overall fight level. Power, strength, skills and conditions all come into play. The Brazilian won this fight. Although Cung Le did well the first round. Silva may be much stronger and a much more powerful opponent. Silva was more aggressive the second round. Towards the end had the Vietnamese Phenom with some good shots and finished the fight. Good fight.

  5. Wanderlei showed his signature moves, the elbow and the knees in clinch. Sad that he was not able to do that axe kick of his, which earned him that alyas The Axe Murderer. I am just wondering if the referee could have given more time for Cung Le. I saw Cung Le after the stoppage, and it seems he is not hurt.

Still, what can we do, Congratulations Wanderlei!!!!!

  6. Seemed like Cung was starting to get tired near the end of the second round and Wanderlei came in for the kill.

  9. To those who keep complaining about the “bad stoppage”, then you must direct the complaint the Cung Le the Vietnamese man himself. If he were to be still in the game, how come he was transported to the hospital for then? To get his makeup done or something? Lol. When Le the Vietnamese Man was down on the floor, Wandy could easily knee Le’s face into pulverization already if the Ref did not stop the fight in time. Go ahead and draw out your next moves graphically starting with Le’s hanging on to Wandy’s thigh and Wandy was on the floor using his BJJ skills. Le is only out to promote his Sanshou Skills, not BJJ skills. This proves again that BJJ practitioners rule. When the fast fancy kickings and arm twirlings are caught and blocked and the fight goes to the ground, then Kick boxer like Vietnaemse Le is tested big time. If any of you is unhappy, let petition for a rematch and see how Le will perform against Silva because Silva is still looking for a job and he even said that he would fight anybody as soon as Dana assigns him to one. Cung Le is overated big time.
