Review: 2004-05-08, Manny Pacquiao came from the first fight against Barrera (one of the Fights of the Year 2003) and tried to win his first title in the featherweight division since Juan Manuel Marquez was the reigning champion of the WBA and IBF featherweight titles. In the first round Manny Pacquiao surprised Marquez knocking down him three times, all thought the match was over but instead the fight ended after twelve rounds with a controversial draw (Harold Lederman scored the fight 115-110 for the Filipino). Mercito Gesta dictates the pace of the fight defeating Dominguez by unanimous decision. Trout knocks down LoPorto in the first round but the fight continues until the sixth round when the referee stops the bout. Review: 2011-11-09, high pace fight, very close to our 4 stars, between Lee Purdy and Colin Lynes at the York Hall in London. Lee Purdy was the favorite of the fight but Colin Lynes knocks down him in the tenth and wins a great match by majority decision. Review: 2011-11-06, pleasant fight between Gago Drago and Bovy Sor Udomson but it is not enough to get our three stars (Shoot The Shooto 2011). Bovy defeated Drago by unanimous decision. Review: 2011-11-06, even with two knockdowns (in the first and second round) the main event of the “Shoot The Shooto 2011” between Andy Souwer and Toby Imada was not very spectacular: two stars. Souwer defeated Imada by unanimous decision taking revenge on the Japanese since in their first fight Imada had won. Andy Souwer, ranked as the No.5 middleweight in the world, entered the fight with a record of 141-12-1 while Toby Imada had a record of 3-1-0 (in kickboxing while in mma 29-16-0). Watch the video!
Review: 2011-11-06, pleasant fight with four knockdowns between Shinsuke Yamanaka and Christian Esquivel. In the sixth round Yamanaka knocks down Esquivel but in the seventh is the Mexican that surprises the Japanese. The fight ends in the eleventh round when Yamanaka knocks down Esquivel two times winning the vacant WBC bantamweight title. The undefeated Shinsuke Yamanaka (14-0-2) entered as the No.6 bantamweight in the world while Christian Esquivel (24-2-0) entered as the No.10.
