BOXING News – Mayweather vs Pacquiao: 5 common opponents CompuBox Stats comparison
Yesterday we analyzed some numbers, records and statistics about Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao, but in the sweet science the most important things are punches. So today, as we promised in the previous post, we want to compare Floyd and Pac-Man through the Compubox Stats. Mayweather and Pacquiao’s last fight
| Floyd Mayweather Jr | Manny Pacquiao | |
| CompuBox Statistics | Mayweather vs Maidana 2 UD12 | Pacquiao vs Algieri UD12 |
| punches thrown | 326 | 669 |
| punches landed | 166 (51%) | 229 (34%) |
| jabs thrown | 149 | 259 |
| jabs landed | 64 (43%) | 42 (16%) |
| power punches thrown | 177 | 410 |
| power punches landed | 102 (58%) | 187 (46%) |
| punches thrown x round | 27,16 | 55,75 |
| punches landed x round | 13,83 | 19,08 |
| punches “eaten” x round | 10,66 | 9 |
As you can see, Pacquiao performed better than Mayweather in their last fight (except for the accuracy): Manny threw more punches and he even ate less shots than Floyd. The problem is that Maidana and Algieri are obviously two different boxers, so in the next tables you can compare Mayweather and Pacquiao with the same opponents.
