Enriko Kehl entered this fight with a pro kickboxing record of 37-7-1 (27 knockouts) and he is ranked as the No.7 super welterweight in the world; he suffered his last defeat in 2013 when he faced Dzhabar Askerov, since then he has won five consecutive bouts winning the 2014 K-1 World Max tournament against Buakaw Banchamek (the Thai refused to fight the extra-round in the final, Buakaw vs Kehl 2). After this bout Kehl beat Abdoul Toure.
