Buakaw lost the rematch with Yi Long in 2016 (controversial decision, Buakaw vs Yi Long 2) but then he has beat Andrei Kulebin (=Buakaw vs Kulebin), Tian Xin (=Buakaw vs Xin) and Kong Lingfeng (=Buakaw vs Lingfeng 2).
His opponent, Azize Hlali, has an official record of 18-12-1 but he has lost five out of his last nine bouts, the last one against Saenchai, after this fight he has beat Morgan Adrar and Noppakit.
