3 Star RatingReview by AllTheBestFights.com: 2016-07-30, pretty good fight between Joseph Diaz and Victor Proa: it gets three stars.

The undefeated Joseph Diaz Jr entered this fight with a perfect boxing record of 20-0-0 (11 knockouts) and he is ranked as the No.11 featherweight in the world while his opponent, Victor Proa, has a record of 28-1-2 (21 KOs=75%). Both boxers have already fought once in 2016: Diaz has beat Jayson Velez (=Diaz Jr vs Velez) while Proa, after six years of inactivity, has defeated Oswaldo Oziel Delgado. ‘JoJo’ Diaz vs Proa is valid for the NABF featherweight title; undercard of Antonio Orozco vs Abner Lopez. 1. Another very short fight with two adversaries with excellent boxing records. This title defense was a relevant victory for Joshep because he fought against to an experienced boxer. He was cool and precise as usual but with a considerable reach advantage which in my opinion was a major factor for winning the fight in such an easy way. The referee stoppage was quite right.

    • Impressive stoppage. This was my first time watching Diaz, who looked much bigger than Proa. As you say, he was the very picture of calm until the turning point, and then what a killer came out.

  2. Glad they posted the link. Thought my post was just deleted.

    Anyway –
Diaz did exactly what was expected and needed to do. Which was to take out a FAR inferior opponent.
Proa is only good on paper.
Never having beaten anyone with a real winning record. To be honest this opponent was a step backward in competition level for Diaz.

He HAS to step up his next fight.
Though I want to see him and Russel Jr. fight I think he needs a fight in between with a real opponent.
