2_stars_mma_ranking_allthebestfightsReview: 2012-02-04, the bout between Josh Koscheck and Mike Pierce was not a particularly good fight: two stars. Josh Koscheck (16-5-0) entered as the No.5 welterweight in the world while Mike Pierce (13-4-0) entered as the No.25. Koscheck vs Pierce is on the undercard of Nick Diaz vs Condit (UFC 143). 1. Herb Dean usually is a good ref, but this one he was off!!! 1st he let pierce have two full minutes to take koscheck down, but every time josh took him down he hollered “LETS WORK” He seemed patient for the grinding style of pierce but impatient for the grinding style of josh koscheck- dont get that??? on the fingers in the eye’s he waits till late in the fight to holler u been all fight long?? gives him a warning and a last warning?? bad ref job in this fight!! but he rebounded later than night, he should have given josh the same time he afforded pierce being they are wrestlers and 2nd if he saw the fingers stuff early- he should have warned him earlier, then after multiple warnings then take a point away!!

  2. the split decision should have gone to pierce, the second eye gauge is what gave him the upper hand for those few moments, i mean really that was a GOOD poke, and that spinning elbow at the end co-nec-ted, i think he should of lost a point for the second one fur sure, not that i dont like josh, i was rootin for him but hey man gotta learn to find your distance another way, AS FAR AS DIAZ, he was to slow got worked, if you dont like that watch machida and ortiz and then tell me how you feel

  3. evenly matched fight, but i dont get the decision. i thought kos may have earned the second but the other two was pierce. after two warnings of the fingers a history of eye pokes and a current poke, a point should have been deducted. this is the highest professional level in the sport, pierce got robbed. The ufc has a long history of there more prized fighters taking home a crazy decision w. its all about the all might dollar. GO BELLATOR

    THE ALL MIGHTY DOLLAR.
