After have told you about the incredible match between Roy Jones Jr and Kimbo Slice, we still can’t believe what we have heard. According to Thai media, a couple of Thai boxing promoters are pushing the notion of a bout between Filipino boxing superstar Manny ‘Pac Man’ Pacquiao and Muay Thai kickboxing legend Buakaw Por Pramuk.
It would be a really “Dream Match”.
Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KOs) is a legendary world boxing champion from Philippines (first eight-division world champion, in which he has won ten world titles, as well as the first to win the Lineal Championship in four different weight classes), and comes from a controversial defeat against Timothy Bradley.
Buakaw Por Pramuk (205-21-12, 53 KOs) is a former Omnoi Stadium champion and two time, 2004, 2006 K-1 World MAX champion. After retiring from Muay Thai and kickboxing in June in the aftermath of an ugly legal dispute with his former gym and managers, he came back to the ring, on August, 17 2012 defeating Abdoul Toure via TKO.

If all goes to plan, the fight will take place at Bangkok’s Royal Plaza in the Dusit District on December 21, shortly after Manny Pacquiao’s birthday, as a boxing celebration for the king of Thailand’s 85th birthday.
According to Narong Hengtrakul, one of Thailand’s most renowned international matchmakers for both conventional boxing and Muay Thai fights, the mega bout is confirmed. Manny will get 150 million baht (4.9 million dollars) and Buakaw will get five million baht (160.000 dollars).
The match will be probably under boxing rules (8 Rounds by 2 minutes with 2 minutes break). Buakaw has so far competed exclusively in muay Thay and K-1. A fight with Pacquaio would be his first under international boxing rules, and it would be very difficult match for him: “It would be tough for Buakaw to fight Pacquiao,” admitted Damrong Simakajornboon, executive secretary of the Asian Boxing Council.
However, Pacquiao is already booked to rematch Juan Manuel Marquez for the fourth time in Las Vegas, Nevada in December 8, so another fight after only 13 days appears very improbable.
