2 Star RatingReview by AllTheBestFights.com: 2018-09-01, some good exchanges between Thabiso Mchunu and Thomas Oosthuizen but it is not enough to get three stars: it gets two.

Thabiso Mchunu entered this fight with a boxing record of 19-4-0 (12 knockouts) and he is ranked as the No.21 cruiserweight in the world. He was defeated by Constantin Bejenaru last year but he came back to win with Ricards Bolotniks in 2018.
His opponent, the former world champion in two different weight classes Thomas Oosthuizen, has an official record of 27-1-2 (16 knockouts) but he is not ranked as he hasn’t fought since May 19, 2017 when he lost to Igor Mikhalkin (Thomas Oosthuizen vs Igor Mikhalkin); before this bout he had beat Said Mbelwa. Mchunu vs Oosthuizen is valid for the vacant African Boxing Union cruiserweight title. Watch the video and rate this fight!

  1. Mchunu got robbed. He was landing the cleaner and more effective shots even if it was only a shot at a time. I don’t know where the commissions and sanctioning bodies get these judges from. You can’t give rounds to a guy based solely on activity when the combinations are completely ineffective (missing and/or blocked). Another home town decision. I love this sport but goddammit it’s so full of bullsh*t.
