Fight rated 2 stars by AllTheBestFights.comReview: 2014-10-08, disappointing fight between Sam Soliman and Jermain Taylor: it gets two stars. The 40-year-old Sam Soliman (4 years older than Taylor) entered this fight with a professional boxing record of 44-11-0 (18 knockouts) and he is ranked as the No.3 middleweight in the world (currently the #1 in this division is Gennady Golovkin); he suffered his last defeat in 2008 when he faced Anthony Mundine in a bout valid for the Wba super-Mw title, since then he has collected nine wins and one no-contest, the first fight against Felix Sturm (=Sturm vs Soliman I) but then he managed to defeat him winning the Ibf Mw title in his last bout (=Sturm vs Soliman II).
His opponent, the former Wbc, Wba, Wbo and Ibf Mw champion Jermain Taylor, has an official record of 32-4-1 (20 knockouts) but he entered as the No.47 in the same weight class since the last time he fought for a world title was in 2009 when he lost to Carl Froch; after this bout he was beat also by Arthur Abraham and then he won four consecutive fights, the last one against Juan Carlos Candelo. Soliman vs Taylor is valid for the IBF middleweight title (Soliman’s first defense). Watch the video and rate this fight!

2007 BOXING fight – Kelly Pavlik vs Jermain Taylor – full fight Video WBC, WBO titles

3_stars_boxing_ranking_allthebestfightsReview: 2007-09-29, probably when we have rated this fight the first time (two stars) we were blind or we made some mistakes, our user “Flex Magnum” was right in his comment on the best boxing fights of 2007 (and now we have updated our ranking). The first fight between Kelly Pavlik and Jermain Taylor was definitely a nice and tough bout with both fighters went to the canvas and some heavy exchanges: three stars (fight ended by TKO in the seventh round). Both undefeated, Kelly Pavlik entered the fight with a record of 31-0-0 while Jermain Taylor had a record of 27-0-1. Pavlik vs Taylor was valid for the WBC and WBO middleweight titles. 2012 BOXING fight – Jermain Taylor vs Caleb Truax – full fight Video

2_stars_boxing_ranking_allthebestfightsReview: 2012-04-20, pleasant fight with one knockdown in the ninth round, but it is not enough to get three stars (Jermain Taylor vs Caleb Truax ended by unanimous decision). Jermain Taylor (29-4-1) entered as the No.42 middleweight in the world while the undefeated Caleb Truax (18-0-1) entered as the No.38. Taylor vs Truax is the main even of the night. Watch the video!

2011 BOXING fight – Jermain Taylor vs Jessie Nicklow – full fight Video

2_stars_boxing_ranking_allthebestfightsReview: 2011-12-30, pleasant fight between Jermain Taylor and Jessie Nicklow but the referee stopped the fight too soon (TKO in the eighth round). Jessie Nicklow, ranked as the No.78 middleweight in the world, entered the fight with a record of 22-2-3 while Jermain Taylor had a record of 28-4-1 (he is not ranked as he hasn’t fought since October 17, 2009 – when he lost against Arthur Abraham). 2006 best BOXING fight – Jermain Taylor vs Ronald Wright – full fight Video

4_stars_allthebestfights Review: Jermain Taylor vs Ronald Wright was one of the best boxing fights of 2006. Taylor was undefeated (25-0-0) and was the WBC and WBO champion of the middleweight division, titles that he had won against Bernard Hopkins (one of the best fights of 2005), instead Ronald “Winky” Wright had already lost 3 times (the last time against Fernando Vargas in 1999) but he could rely on his experience of 50 victories. 2005 best BOXING fight – Jermain Taylor vs Bernard Hopkins 1 – Video full fight

5_stars_allthebestfights Review: the style of fighting of Jermain Taylor and Bernard Hopkins is not usually among the most spectacular, but during 2005 they faced twice giving life to two beautiful fights (especially the first one). Hopkins was the undisputed champion of the middleweight division and he did not lose since 1993 (against Roy Jones Jr), but “The Executioner”, in 2005, was already 40 years old, 13 more than Taylor who was also undefeated. The first fight Taylor vs Hopkins was valid for four world titles: WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO. Watch the video!
