Seven days to one of the biggest boxing event of all-time, the fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao, and it’s time to watch the second episode of “Inside Mayweather vs Pacquiao”, a Showtime documentary series chronicling the life of the two boxers (similar to the Hbo 24/7 Tv reality show).

This second episode starts with Floyd Mayweather Jr who explains why he fight:”I fight for many different things, I fight for myself, I fight for the money, I fight for legacy, I fight because I want to be the best, I fight because I want to go down in history as one of the best, that’s the reason why I fight”. Then you can see Floyd and Pac-Man training in their gyms: the Mayweather Boxing Club in south Las Vegas and the Wild Card gym in Hollywod or an interview to Don Hale, Mayweather’s former boxing manager.

Yesterday we analyzed some numbers, records and statistics about Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao, but in the sweet science the most important things are punches. So today, as we promised in the previous post, we want to compare Floyd and Pac-Man through the Compubox Stats. We start to examine their last fight in which both boxers got an unanimous decision win in twelve rounds and then we analyze five opponents they had in common: Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley and Miguel Cotto.

As you can see, Pacquiao performed better than Mayweather in their last fight (except for the accuracy): Manny threw more punches and he even ate less shots than Floyd. The problem is that Maidana and Algieri are obviously two different boxers, so in the next tables you can compare Mayweather and Pacquiao with the same opponents.

In the first one, named “Mayweather vs Pacquiao Preview”, you can see and listen to some of the most important people who made this fight happen: Ken Hershman (president of Hbp Sports), Leonard Ellerbe (Ceo of Mayweather promotions), Bob Arum (Ceo of Top Rank) etc.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao, will be held on May 2nd, 2015, at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, United States and it will be broadcasted both on Showtime and Hbo.
