  1. Wonderful fight. While Glowacki took a ferocious beating at the end, I did not see Usyk winning by the same large margin as the judges saw (119-109, really?). I had him up by a round or two at most. The cagey ex-champ had many moments and some rounds were very close, and it was still up for grabs, I thought, going into the championship rounds. But clearly he lacks the hand speed, mobility and punch selection that belong to Usyk.

Congratulations to the terrific new champion. His dancing and stick and move style already had me thinking of Ali long before he did the Shuffle. Superb boxer after only ten pro fights — what will he be like in the years to come!

    1. I had it 118-110. Glowacki proved his durability and chin, but he was apparently frustrated because as the rounds were passing he was struggling to land clean. He was often only looking for the big left hand shot which was hard to land on a slick southpaw like Usyk. He managed to dig some shots to the body and sometimes putting he pressure on Usyk, but he found it hard to get past those double-triple jabs. I think that’s the reason judges had Usyk winning by the large margin.

    2. Arjay. I have 119-109 for Usyk. However, if somebody bend my arm it would be 118-110 but never more than 2 rounds for Glowacki unless I receive a big pull to broke my arm in pieces. I’m not so brave :-).

      1. Haha, fair enough! Yes, I think most observers agree with you and Dano about the score. At least I will be safe if I ever run into Glowacki. :-)

  2. These Ukranians with amazing amateur pedigrees seem to transition fantastically well into the pros with their superior movement and combinations.

  3. Excellent fight between an experienced boxer with an impeccable record against to a rival that thanks to his excellent techniques and high ring mobility was able to impose his will during the whole fight.
Usyk is fast and quite precise which was fully demonstrated by means of his excellent jab work. He put also a very good punch combinations to the head and the body showing boxing technique proficiency while changing his body angle to connect them better. The score of 119-109 make justice to his excellent work since he out boxed a good champion who wasn’t able to defend himself or produce a better offensive during the fight.
