Review: 2002-05-18, Arturo Gatti vs Micky Ward 1, has been the Ring Magazine fight of the year of 2002, a real boxing war between two very different fighters. Arturo Gatti, that was younger than 7 years, was one of the most beautiful boxers to see for his technique, while Micky Ward was a boxer that wanted to use his physical strength and had a jaw of iron. Someone has labeled Micky Ward vs Arturo Gatti 1 as “The Fight of the Century” and therefore we understand why after this fight they will face in two other fighting (Gatti vs Ward 2 six months later, and Gatti vs Ward 3 in 2003). Review: 2001-07-13, we had rated this fight four stars but after watching it again, thanks to the comments of “Cleming81” and “mattsnow81”, we have changed our rating in five (on February 6, 2015) because Micky Ward vs Emanuel Augustus was an absolute war thanks to a tremendous pace and some amazing exchanges in which both boxers showed huge heart (in the comments you can see how we rate it round by round).
Micky Ward, one of the most popular boxers despite not being very technical, entered this fight with a professional boxing record of 36-10-0 (27 knockouts) while his opponent, Emanuel Augustus Burton, had not an exceptional record, 24-17-4 (12 knockouts) and close his career with 38 victories, 34 defeats and 6 draws but he faced some of the best boxers in those years: John John Molina, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Carlos Wilfredo Vilches, David Diaz, Ruslan Provodnikov, etc. This bout has been the Ring Magazine fight of the year of 2001, but there were other three exciting battles in that year that we rated with five stars: De La Hoya vs Gatti, Wonjongkam vs Tunacao, Pacquiao vs Ledwaba. Review: 2001-04-07, Marco Antonio Barrera vs Naseem Hamed was probably the most anticipated fight of 2001, two great boxing champions, both very spectacular. Barrera had a record of 52 wins and 3 losses (two with Junior Jones and one against Erik Morales, bout named fight of the year of 2000) while Prince Naseem Hamed still had a perfect record: 35 fights with no defeats. The two boxers hated each others in fact during the fight there are some improprieties, but it was one of the most exciting fights of 2001. Watch the video!

Review: 2001-06-23, Kostya Tszyu vs Oktay Urkal was one of the best boxing fights of 2001. Tszyu was the world champion for both WBA and WBC light welterweight division and he faced Oktay Urkal, at his first attempt to win a world title (he was the EBU European champion). However Urkal, that had never lost in 28 matches, proved to be a tough fighter in fact Kostya Tszyu vs Oktay Urkal was a great and balanced fight. Watch the video!

Review: 2001-05-05, valid for the WBO light heavyweight title, Dariusz Michalczewski vs Alejandro Lakatos was certainly one of the best boxing fights of 2001. Both boxers had never lost until that day, but Michalczewski had much more experience, being older than five years and especially because he had 43 professional fights while Lakatos only 15. Review: 2001-05-12, Felix Trinidad vs William Joppy has certainly been one of the best boxing fights of 2001. Tito Trinidad still had a spotless record, with 39 victories in 39 fights and he was at the top of his career, having already beaten boxers such as Fernando Vargas, Oscar De La Hoya and Pernell Whitaker; Joppy, instead, had lost once (against Julio Cesar Green, who then won in the rematch) and had a respectable record of 32 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw. Felix Trinidad vs William Joppy was valid for the WBA middleweight title. Watch the video!

Review: in the same event organized by Strikeforce in which there was the highly anticipated fight Fedor vs Silva, there has been one of the toughest mma fights of 2011: Chad Griggs vs Gian Villante. Both fighters came to the fight with only one defeat, they start with tough series of punches, but Chad Griggs seems to be more accurate until an unexpected high-kick of Villante seems to reverse the situation, but Griggs continues with his heavy punches until the final knockout. Antonio Silva vs Fedor Emelianenko full fight Video Strikeforce – 2011

Review: Antonio Silva vs Fedor Emelianenko has been a good fight as everyone expected. Fedor have not fight for almost eight months (when he was defeated for the first time by Fabricio Werdum) and Strikeforce World Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament seemed the way to redeem himself and maybe find Werdum another time. But Fedor Emelianenko had to fight versus Antonio Bigfoot Silva, Brazilian fighter with a powerful physique and just two defeats, one with Pele and the other with Fabricio Werdum (unanimous decision). The first round between Fedor vs Silva is won by Emelianenko that seems to keep control of the fight, but in the second round Silva takes courage and brings to the ground Fedor that suffer the actions of the Brazilian throughout the round. The signs on the face of Fedor Emelianenko are obvious, so the doctor stopped the fight. Strikeforce World Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament loses its main fighter and, as declared after the fight, this could have been the last cage fight of the great Fedor Emelianenko. Antonio Silva vs Fedor Emelianenko could enter in the history of MMA, a fight nice to see, very technical for the division of the two fighters. Watch the video!

Giorgio Petrosyan vs Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee full fight Video – 2011

Review:2011-01-29, Giorgio Petrosyan and Sudsakorn Sor. Klinmee are two of the strongest K-1 and Muay Tahi fighters of the last years, and their fight at Thai Boxe Mania was spectacular. The first round was won by Sudsakorn but from the second, Petrosyan begins to take the time of the thai fighter and the italian predominate especially with his boxing skills. Giorgio Petrosyan vs Sudsakorn Sor. Klinmee is still a close fight, then it would be nice a rematch, perhaps at K-1 World Max (if Sudsakorn will be able to get it). Watch the video!
