Review: 2014-05-03, disappointing fight between Karapet Karapetyan and Marc de Bonte: it gets two stars. Karapet Karapetyan entered this fight with a professional kickboxing record of 43-9-2 and he is ranked as the No.6 light heavyweight in the world, he fought three times in 2013 losing only his last bout against Nieky Holzken (semifinal of the Glory Ww tournament, Holzken vs Karapetyan 2); he came back to victory in 2014 beating Artur Kyshenko.
His opponent, Marc de Bonte, has an official record of 86-11-1 (or 82-9-1 on wikipedia) and he entered as the No.5 in the same weight class, he fought just once in 2013 defeating L’houcine Ouzgni via ko in the first round. In their first bout Marc de Bonte defeated Karapetyan by decision (May 19, 2012); this second fight, main event of Glory 16, is valid for the Glory welterweight title (De Bonte was expected to face Nieky Holzken but he recently suffered a shoulder injury in a car accident and was replaced by Karapetyan). Raymond Daniels entered this fight with a professional kickboxing record of 4-1-0 (17-0-0 his amateur record), he is a black belt in American Kenpo, Shotokan Karate and Taekwondo but last year he suffered his first professional defeat when he faced Joseph Valtellini in the semifinal of the Glory Ww tournament (=Valtellini vs Daniels).
His opponent, Francois Ambang, has a record of 11-3-0, he fought twice in 2013 for Glory promotion losing to Joseph Valtellini in June but then he defeated Eddie Walker in November. Former mma fighter Pat Barry entered this fight with a pro kickboxing record of 15-5-1, last year he fought and lost twice in the Ufc: against Shawn Jordan (=Barry vs Jordan) and Soa Palelei (=Barry vs Palelei); he came back to victory in 2014 defeating Ed Burris in a kickboxing bout.
His opponent, Zack Mwekassa, has a record of 10-1-0 and he entered as the No.64 boxing cruiserweight in the world (his professional boxing record is 14-4-0). Review: 2014-04-19, Thai fighters usually use the first round to study their opponent, but this is not the case…both Pornsanae and Manawwhan start strong throwing heavy kicks and we don’t understand what their legs are made of: bones, wood or iron?!? Why champions like Anderson Silva (=Weidman vs Silva 2) or Tyrone Spong (=Spong vs Saki 2) have broken their legs with just one kick while these two Thai boxers kick each other furiously without getting hurt?!?! Anyway, this battle was one of the best muay thai fights of 2014 and it gets four stars! Pornsanae Sitmonchai (red trunks) entered this fight with a professional kickboxing record of 144-44-1 (or 109-52-1, wikipedia’s record) and he was ranked as the No.8 featherweight in the world in May 2013 (before his last 5 stars fight we posted: Pornsanae vs Saksuriya) but after that bout he lost five out of his last eight fights.
Unfortunately we don’t know the record of his opponent, Manawwhan Sittongpetchyindee (blue trunks), but he is ranked as the No.2 featherweight at Lumpinee Stadium in March 2014! Pornsanae vs Manawwhan is valid for the Omnoi Super Featherweight title. Watch the video and rate this fight!

2014 K-1 MUAY THAI fight – Victor Nagbe vs Buakaw Banchamek – full fight Video

Review: 2014-04-14, technical fight but not particularly exciting: Buakaw Banchamek vs Victor Nagbe gets two stars. Buakaw Banchamek, formerly known as Buakaw Por Pramuk, entered this fight with a professional kickboxing record of 215-21-12 (56 knockouts) and he is ranked as the No.1 super welterweight in the world, he suffered his last defeat in 2009 when he faced Andy Souwer in the semifinal of the K-1 World MAX, since then he has collected 27 consecutive wins!!!
His opponent, Victor Nagbe, has an official record of 39-15-1 and he entered as the No.6 welterweight, he is just 19 years old (twelve years younger than Buakaw) and two weeks ago he managed to defeat Kem Sitsongpeenong by ko (=Kem vs Nagbe). Buakaw vs Nagbe is the main event of Combat Banchamek; they also faced each other a second time on May 21, 2018 (Buakaw Banchamek vs Victor Nagbe 2). Watch the video and rate this fight!
