Review: 2011-09-24, the fight between Mahonri Montes and Carlos Wiston Velasquez was not very spectacular. Montes (22-0-1) entered as the No.51 super featherweight in the world while Velasquez (18-12-1) entered as the No.63 lightweight. Montes defeated Velasquez by TKO in the eighth round, undercard of Jorge Arce vs Nongqayi 2. Watch the video!
Review: 2011-09-24, boring fight between Alexander Dimitrenko and Michael Sprott: one star. Dimitrenko (31-1-0) entered as the No.9 heavyweight in the world while Michael Sprott (36-16-0) entered as the No.84. Review: 2011-09-24, good fight between Jorge Arce and Simphiwe Nongqayi. In their first fight (2009) Nongqayi defeated “Travieso” Arce by unanimous decision but in this second match Arce already knocked down the South African boxer in the first round. Nongqayi did not give up and is the referee that stopped the fight in the fourth. Jorge Arce (57-6-2) entered as the No.4 super bantamweight in the world while Simphiwe Nongqayi (16-1-1) was not ranked as he did not fight since July 31, 2010 (against Juan Alberto Rosas). Review: 2011-09-23, nice fight between Vicente Escobedo and Rocky Juarez (it is very close to our 4 stars thanks to a high pace). In the third round Escobedo knocked down Juarez but the fight ends by unanimous decision after ten beautiful rounds. Important victory for Vicente Escobedo (23-3-0) entered as the No.9 lightweight in the world while Rocky Juarez (28-8-1) entered as the No.41 super featherweight. Watch the video!
Review: 2010-12-04, spectacular fight between Humberto Soto and Urbano Antillon: 5 stars! In 2010 Soto (52-7-2) had won the WBC lightweight title (against David Diaz) and had already defended it twice but in his third defense he faced the pressure fighter Urbano Antillon (28-1-0). In fact Antillon pushed forward for twelve rounds but Soto returned every blow. In the fifth round the referee deducted one point to Antillon and this was crucial for the result of the fight since Humberto Soto defeated Antillon by close decision: 115-112, 114-113, 114-113. Review: 2010-04-17, very high pace and tough fight between Robert Stieglitz (37-2-0) and Eduard Gutknecht (18-0-0). Stieglitz had won the his WBO super middleweight title in 2009 (against Karoly Balzsay) and after beating Ruben Eduardo Acosta in the first defense he faced the undefeated Eduard Gutknecht. Even if the fight ended on points (Stieglitz defeated Gutknecht by unanimous decision) the match was very exciting: one of the best boxing fights of 2010. Watch the video!
Review: 2010-05-15, high pace fight, balanced and valid for a world title (vacant WBC cruiserweight), the second fight between Krzysztof Wlodarczyk and Giacobbe Fragomeni was one of the best boxing fights of 2010. In the first fight (fought in Italy in 2009) Fragomeni was the defending champion and the match ended in a draw but in the rematch Wlodarczyk was fighting in front of his fans and so he was absolutely determined to win the belt. Giacobbe Fragomeni (26-2-1) pushed forward almost every round but at the end of the sixth Wlodarczyk (42-2-1) knocked down him, the Italian boxer recovered but in the eighth went to the canvas another time and the fight ended by TKO (‘Diablo’ Wlodarczy and Fragomeni also faced each other a third time on December 6, 2013 = Wlodarczyk vs Fragomeni 3).
