UFC on Fuel TV 6: Franklin vs Le video teaser
On Saturday, November 10, the UFC will mark its first ever trip to China as part of their final FUEL TV card of the year.
The main event will see former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin (29-6, 1 NC) against former Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le (8-2).
Cung Le (age 40) is a former International Kickboxing Federation light heavyweight world champion, having a professional Sanshou record of 16-0 before moving to mixed martial arts (Le also held an undefeated kick-boxing record of 17-0). In his last match he got a victory against Patrick Cote at UFC 148, but is the match with Wanderlei Silva that made history: at UFC 139 Le had a good start with his kicks, and landed a spinning backfist that dropped Silva. During the second round, Silva bombed Le with huge punches and knees that completely broke Le’s nose. Le was stunned, bloody and fell to the ground, and the fight was stopped by the ref (= Wanderlei Silva vs Cung Le). In the same night there was a “Fight of the Year” and currently our most voted fight: Dan Henderson vs Mauricio Shogun Rua.
Cung Le is also a movie star and a great friend of Jean Claude Van Damme. Together they appear in the movie “Dragon Eyes”.
Rich Franklin (age 38) comes from just a victory against Wanderlei Silva (Fight of The Night= Rich Franklin vs Wanderlei Silva 2), but his worst nightmare is Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva, who take his title at UFC 64 in 2006 and defeated him again in 2007.
In the preliminary card, an interesting match is John Lineker vs Yasuhiro Urushitani.
The Jungle Fight Bantamweight champion, John Lineker (19-6) entered the UFC with some high expectations and, despite losing to Louis Gaudinot’s guillotine choke at UFC on Fox: Diaz vs Miller (Fight of the Night), showed the endless aggression that made him such a hot commodity in the first place. Over two rounds of action, much of which he spent on his back, “Hands of Stone” threw an amazing 240 strikes, 150 of them in the first round alone.
The loss to Gaudinot terminated a 13-fight win streak for the 22-year-old Brazilian, who owns eight knockout victories.
