The undefeated Sergey Kovalev entered this fight with a professional boxing record of 26-0-1 (23 KOs=88%) and he is ranked as the No.2 light heavyweight in the world (currently the #1 in this division is Adonis Stevenson); he fought three times in 2014 defending twice his Wbo belt, against Cedric Agnew (=Kovalev vs Agnew) and Blake Caparello (=Kovalev vs Caparello), then he faced Bernard Hopkins in a three titles unification fight (=Hopkins vs Kovalev).
His opponent, Jean Pascal, has an official record of 29-2-1 (17 knockouts) and he entered as the No.3 in the same weight class; he suffered his last defeat in 2011 when he faced Bernard Hopkins in their rematch (fight in which Pascal lost both his Wbc and Ibo belts, Hopkins vs Pascal 2). The 2005 and 2007 K-1 World MAX Champion Andy Souwer entered this fight with a pro kickboxing record of 155-17-1 (97 knockouts) and he is ranked as the No.8 super welterweight in the world, he has already fought twice in 2015 beating Jiao Fukai, semifinal of the Kunlun 4-man tournament (=Souwer vs Fukai), but then he lost the final against Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong (=Souwer vs Sitthichai).

In fact she suffered two consecutive defeats in 2012, against Holly Holm (in their rematch – Mathis won the first bout) and against Cecilia Braekhus (=Braekhus vs Mathis), then she won the vacant Wbf super-Ww title with Yahaira Hernandez in 2013 and her last bout, against Christina Hammer, ended in a no-contest.

Review: 2014-07-08, after a classic muay thai first round in which both fighters study each other, the second period is simply amazing: a back and forth battle with both fighters exchanging shot for shot and going to the canvas. However we think that Pakorn vs Saeksan and Yodsanklai vs Rumchong are the real candidates for Muay thai Fight of the Year 2014 but Pornsanae vs Pokaew is our candidate for Muay thai Round of the Year and it gets for stars.
Pornsanae Sitmonchai (red trunks) entered this fight with a professional kickboxing record of 145-44-1 (or 109-53-1, wikipedia’s record) while unfortunately we don’t know the record of his opponent, Pokaew Fonjangchonburi (also known as Pokkeaw Fonjaengchonburi) that replaces Dejnarong Wor Soontonnont. Saenchai has already fought 14 times in 2014 losing three bouts: against Petboonchu FA Group, Singdam Kiatmuu9 and Petmorakot Wor Sangprapai.
