Now it’s official: Ronda Rousey has signed with the UFC, becoming the first woman to step in the Octagon.
The Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion will begin fighting for the promotion in 2013, probably in the early months. The name for her first opponent is not confirmed yet, but there are rumors about Strikeforce competitor Liz Carmouche (last victory with Kaitlin Young at Invicta Fc 2). As you know, our hopes are for a Dream Fight against Cris ‘Cyborg’ Santos.
On the other hand, losing the women’s division, the entire promotion of Strikeforce will end his glorious history following its show in January 2013. As consequence, many fighters then will Read more »
Strikeforce announced to have canceled its November 3 event in Oklahoma City.
As we have told you in the past days (Strikeforce’s prevoius news), several injuries crippled the card: headliner Frank Mir, as well as co-headliner and middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and former Olympic wrestling silver medalist Sara McMann were forced to withdrawal.
“Due to a series of injuries, we were forced to cancel the upcoming card on November 3 but are already working to put together a stacked card in January,” Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said in Read more »

The verbal quarrel between Ronda Rousey and Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Santos continues (Ronda Rousey vs Cris Cyborg Santos first post), and we are happy, because we want to see this great fight.
“I think Cyborg really doesn’t have any other options besides me. I think she’s a victim of her own cheating, whereas when she was doped up and she looked like she was so head-over-heels above all these girls, it made the women’s division look bad. Then she cleaned out her own division because of that. Now she’s having to deal with the consequences of it. No one’s going to want to fight a cheater. I’m pretty much her only option and I’m chock full of options.” Ronda said recently.
Santos has not fought since failing a steroid test last December and lost her 145 pound title.

The MMA event more interesting of the weekend (Saturday, April 9) is organized by Strikeforce, which main event is Nick Diaz vs Paul Daley. In the same evening there will be also the Strikeforce lightweight title at stake between Gilbert Melendez and Tatsuya Kawajiri: “El Nino” Melendez (18-2-0) is Read more »
