Linares was dominating the fight thanks to his perfect technique but from the sixth round a cut on the nose allows DeMarco to get back in the match. In the eleventh the Mexican picks up the pace and Linares, with a bloody mask, is no longer able to fight: DeMarco wins by TKO. Antonio DeMarco (25-2-1) entered as the No.11 lightweight in the world while Jorge Linares (31-1-0) entered as the No.10.
