2014 K-1 MUAY THAI fight – Toby Smith vs Kem Sitsongpeenong – full fight Video

Review: 2014-02-16, technical fight with some nice elbows but the fight was not so spectacular: Kem Sitsongpeenong vs Toby Smith gets two stars. Kem Sitsongpeenong entered this fight with a professional kickboxing record of 120-23-4 (41 knockouts) and he is ranked as the No.3 welterweight in the world, he fought six times in 2013 winning five bouts, the only fight he didn’t win was against Jordan Watson (fight ended in a draw). But 2014 has not started very well for the Thai fighter since he lost his last bout and his WBC Muaythai world super welterweight title against Vitaly Gurkov (not a great fight, we rated it two stars).
His opponent, Toby Smith, has an official record of 33-5-2 (9 knockouts) and he entered as the No.3 super welterweight, he is one of Australia’s most promising muay thai fighters since he is just 20 years old and he managed to win the WPMF junior middleweight world title and in his last fight he defeated Thongchai Sitsongpeenong (Lumpinee Stadium welterweight champion). Review: 2014-02-14, close and exciting fight thanks to a great performance by both boxers: Devis Boschiero vs Romain Jacob gets three stars. Devis Boschiero entered this fight with a professional boxing record of 34-1-1 (16 knockouts) and he is ranked as the No.17 super featherweight in the world, he suffered his only loss to Takahiro Ao in 2011 but it was a controversial split decision (=Ao vs Boschiero), that fight was valid for the WBC super featherweight title but after that bout the Italian boxer has never fought again for a world title shot.

The undefeated Roman Gonzalez entered this fight with a perfect record of 37-0-0 (31 KOs=84%) and he is ranked as the No.4 flyweight in the world, he moved up in weight class to the flyweight division just last year after having successfully defended the WBA light flyweight title five times (moreover he had already won the WBA minimumweight belt in 2008).

Lyoto Machida entered this fight with a professional mma record of 20-4-0 (50% finishing rate) and he is ranked as the No.3 middleweight in the world, he is a black belt in Shotokan karate (3rd dan) and in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, last year he fought three times beating Dan Henderson (=Machida vs Henderson), losing to Phil Davis (=Machida vs Davis) and defeating Mark Munoz with a spectacular high kick in his middleweight debut (=Machida vs Munoz).
His opponent, the 28-year-old Gegard Mousasi (seven less than Machida), has an official record of 34-3-2 (85% finishing rate) and he entered as the No.10 light heavyweight but in this fight he returns to the lower division, currently the #1 in the middleweight class is Chris Weidman. Mousasi started his fighting career practicing judo (he is a black belt) but then he practiced boxing (winning the amateur Netherlands title) and kickboxing. Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza entered this fight with a pro mma record of 19-3-0 (85% finishing rate) and he is ranked as the No.5 middleweight in the world, he is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo (he won eight gold medals in bjj and two in the ADCC submission wrestling championship). Ronaldo Souza suffered his last defeat to Luke Rockhold in 2011 losing also the Strikeforce middleweight title (=Rockhold vs Souza), since then he collected five consecutive wins (all before the limit!).
His opponent, Francis Carmont, has an official record of 22-7-0 (72% finishing rate) and he entered as the No.7 in the same weight class, he suffered his last defeat against the Russian Baga Agaev in 2008 but after that fight he has just won, eleven-fight win streak (six in the Ufc).
